Omrania Projects Shortlisted for 2018 Arab Architects Awards

.

Omrania’s Saudi Embassy in Amman and Riyadh Hilton Hotel and Furnished Apartments were selected to compete for the top prize in their respective categories. The preliminary jury was held on 6 July 2018 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Managing Director Mr. Basem Al-Shihabi of Omrania was notified by representatives of the Federation of Lebanese Engineers and the Organization of Arab Architects that the two projects had been shortlisted. The Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jordan (2014) is conceived as a terraced “Acropolis” overlooking Amman. Clad in varying textures of white marble and limestone, it exudes a quiet monumentality from its 15,136-square-meter site. The Riyadh Hilton Hotel and Furnished Apartments (2018) is a newly completed project comprising two towers linked by an amenity-populated podium building.

The shortlist in each category of the Arab architects Awards consists of four projects, according to the information that Omrania has received. The final jury will convene to select the winners on 25-27 October 2018 at Seaside Arena Exhibition center in Beirut. Omrania will send three capable representatives to the event: Mr. Abdulsalam Haddad, Director of Business Development and Marketing, will attend on behalf of the Board of Directors. Mr. Mahmoud Abughazal, Head of Architectural and Interior Design, will present the Riyadh Hilton Hotel and Furnished Apartments. Mr. Raed AlKhateeb, Chief Architect and Partner in Omrania’s Amman branch office, will present the KSA Embassy project.

We extend our appreciation to the Federation of Lebanese Engineers and the Organization of Arab Architects for recognizing the quality of these projects. And we look forward to seeing the other shortlisted projects in Beirut.
