Quality Assurance Manager

(1 Open Position – Riyadh) – Job posted: 20 April 2022

The Role

To develop and manage the quality management system comprising quality policy, procedures and activities across all company offices and fields of operation. The role includes, but is not necessarily limited to promotion of the organization’s corporate quality culture through liaison with senior management and technical staff and dissemination of quality management information, development and maintenance of quality management policy and procedures documentation, review of project quality plans and other project quality documentation, auditing of project quality assurance and quality control activities, development and implementation of methods and metrics for measurement and recording of quality data, preparation of reports to management, etc.

The Role will also extend to development of Environmental Health and Safety policies and documentation in liaison with in-house EHS specialist staff.

The Quality Assurance Manager will report to the Corporate Directors for Design and Construction Supervision and will liaise with Directors responsible for Project Management within each of the organization’s design offices as well as other senior management and technical staff as required.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will ideally have a Bachelors Degree in architecture or engineering and a minimum of 15 years experience since graduation, preferably in a consulting environment within the building construction industry, together with in-depth knowledge of international quality management standards and practices, particularly ISO 9001; 1994, 2000 and 2008 versions and their application, with practical experience of implementation of these standards on major building design and construction projects. Knowledge of international Environmental Health and Safety Standards and procedures would be advantageous.

Proficiency in written English and familiarity with construction industry processes and terminology are essential requirements for the position.

By its nature, the Role requires a strong but adaptable personality with well developed interpersonal skills in order to achieve results through collaboration and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff at all levels throughout a multi-cultural organization.

 

Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer

(1 Open Position – Riyadh) – Job posted: 20 April 2022

The Role
Responsible to the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department within a multi-discipline design office, the position involves leading a team of design engineers and CAD operators in the design, drafting and specification of HVAC services for a variety of building projects from concept stage to issuing of construction contract documents. The role may also require short term supervision and inspection of mechanical systems installations during the construction stage.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will hold a Bachelors of Science B Sc or higher degree in mechanical engineering and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience (6 years minimum within a design and consultancy firms) in the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for large scale building projects including, but not limited to cooling/heating loads, air and chilled water distribution, ventilation, pressurization, smoke extract, thermal energy storage and building management systems. At least 5 years experience should have been gained in the Middle East. Experience and capabilities in HVAC infrastructure (district cooling) design would be an asset.

In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and services for a variety of building types, including high-rise corporate and residential, hospitality, low-rise commercial and retail, leisure and recreational, educational and healthcare facilities is essential, together with a clear understanding of the relationship and coordination requirements between the HVAC design and architectural and other engineering design disciplines on complex projects.

Candidates will be able to prepare clear and detailed calculations using proprietary HVAC design software such as Carrier E-20/HAP, Elite, etc. and be familiar with other computer programs for duct and pipe sizing, ESP drop and heat gain.

Candidates will be able to prepare project specification based on standard CSI format.

Candidates will be fully conversant with international standards and codes of practice for mechanical engineering, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASTM, ANSI, NFPA and other regulatory standards. Mechanical Inspector

(1 Open Position – Riyadh) – Job posted: 13 June 2022

The Role

To supervise mechanical construction and installation works for a major hotel and resort project comprising a 5 star hotel, conference centre, spa and retail area and exclusive villas.

Reporting to the Senior Engineers on site, the appointments will entail (but will not necessarily be limited to):

  • Inspection of mechanical construction works in progress to ensure compliance of materials and workmanship with design drawings and specifications.
  • Monitoring of mechanical materials deliveries and on-site storage to ensure compliance with specified requirements.
  • Monitoring of compliance with specified procedures and general good practice in relation to the mechanical site safety.
  • Monitoring the contractor’s progress of work and reporting of daily site activities to the site engineers.
  • Reporting of non-conformances and site observations and general liaison with the site engineers in relation to the quality and progress of work.
  • Snagging and preparation of punch lists of items for corrective action following completion of mechanical construction in preparation for project handover.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will have at least a mechanical technical diploma or similar in the appropriate engineering discipline and at least 10 years of experience in inspection of construction and installation works on major mechanical building construction projects, some of which will preferably have been gained in the Middle East.

A thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and installation methods and materials related to appropriate technical disciplines as well as appropriate sampling and testing requirements and procedures in accordance with international (U.S./British) codes and standards is essential.

The ability to effectively communicate with other team members and the contractor’s site staff, as well as to prepare clear written reports in English language are also important aspects of the position.
