When imagination, talent, and skill are at play

Meshal, a freshly minted architect who works both on site and in the office, enjoys taking on new and interesting tasks with increasing levels of difficulty “it was a great opportunity to showcase my computational capabilities and design aesthetic in parametric modeling, visual scripting, kinetic architecture and fabrication details.”

Why did you join Omrania?

During my search to align myself within a local establishment, Omrania was, and still is, the best choice with incredible ongoing challenges to test and further develop my skill set and working knowledge in multiple areas within computational and technical design.

What are your favorite projects you have worked on? And why?

Capital Market Authority (CMA) Headquarters
As the leading architect of the design/technical team of the CMA Podium Suspended Installation, it was a great opportunity to showcase my computational capabilities and design aesthetic in parametric modeling, visual scripting, kinetic architecture and fabrication details.

Arriyadh Metro Western Station
Being fully responsible for the development of the design concept for the Metro Station’s Tensile Canopy with guidance from an outstanding mentor (Mr. Marcus Leyland), and being my first task in Omrania, it was a great opportunity to showcase my knowledge and capabilities in parametric modeling, visual scripting and tensegrity structures.

Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence
As my first project site experience, guided by an outstanding mentor (Mr. Hashim Al-Mashharawi), it is an ongoing great opportunity to understand the complex process of site construction from a consultants stand point while developing a working knowledge in facade systems, architectural details, project site procedures and project management.

What is your favorite part of the day at work?

Morning hours, start of the day, while tackling the most difficult tasks I had set out for myself the day before needed to be solved with a fresh mind set and 100 percent energy.

What do you like most about working with Omrania?

Always facing interesting tasks with increasing levels of difficulty that help expand my skill set, level of knowledge and experience.

What is the most challenging part of the work?

Being away from my wonderfully supportive wife and kids for long hours 🙂

If you were to recommend Omrania to your best friend; what would you say?

It depends on what my friends profession and rank is, but in general:

Great exposure to a wide verity of project types, well experienced management to learn from and a good environment to challenge ones capabilities.
