The hidden layer of coordination

Mohammed excels at background technical studies, but he also enjoys coordination for mega projects.  On the Ministry of Housing Projects he said “The work required coordination between different technical disciplines in Omrania, as well as A LOT of coordination with local municipalities and government ministries.”

Why did you join Omrania?

After four years of work in MOMRA, I was looking to join a large local company that is up to international standards. Omrania was one of the top companies in the market at the time. I interviewed first with Omrania, and I was lucky enough to be accepted at the first interview.

What are your favorite projects you have worked on? And why?

Riyadh Building Regulations
It was a big challenge to study and review regulations in a large city like Riyadh; one of the fastest growing cities in the world. The project also involved a lot of back and forth collaboration with Riyadh municipality & Riyadh Development Authority (ADA). I like big challenges like this!

Makkah & Riyadh Heliport
In that project I had my first experience with value engineering. I always enjoy learning-by-doing, and I learned a lot on that project, thanks to my colleagues Maher Shkoukani, Amr Mohamed, and Sandy Sanwatri.

Ministry of Housing Projects
This is a series of projects of national importance for the Kingdom. The work required coordination between different technical disciplines in Omrania, as well as A LOT of coordination with local municipalities and government ministries. I like mega projects, and this definitely a mega project!

What is your favorite part of the day at work?

Actually, 2 parts :

  1. When Omrania offer us free in-house learning courses. I like to keep learning!
  2. The family atmosphere: I love it when colleagues invite us for sweets to celebrate together good moments in life; like buying a new car, or having a new baby…. etc.

What do you like most about working with Omrania?
  1. The high spirit of team, and the culture of cooperation between everyone.
  2. Mutual respect and appreciation among all colleagues, starting from the Board of Directors to the office boy.

What is the most challenging part of the work?

The fine balance between time and quality; how can I finish the work with high quality and with limited time

If you were to recommend Omrania to your best friend; what would you say?

Just a couple of words: If you want to work with the best of the best, join Omrania. That’s it.
