Omrania was pleased to contribute to WoodShow Global in 2025; our team engaged in two panel discussions that addressed the evolving role of timber in shaping sustainable, context-driven architecture.
Sherif Boules, Design Manager – Interior Design, joined the session on “𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬 – 𝗔𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲”, where he explored the intersection of design ambition and material innovation in the lead-up to Expo 2030.

Later, Nadine Abdul Salam, Assistant Project Manager, participated in the panel “𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 – 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆”, offering perspectives on performance standards, regional climate considerations, and long-term adaptability. The discussion emphasized practical insights into specifying timber for large-scale projects, from structural integration to façade detailing, and underlined how research and technical expertise are shaping more resilient applications of wood across diverse project typologies.

Together, the sessions underscored how material knowledge, design intent, and regional context are essential in advancing resilient and sustainable applications of wood.
