Omrania at the Desert Architecture Forum 2025 KSA Represented by Anna Rita Petrungaro and Alberto Oto

Omrania joined leading voices in sustainable design at the Desert Architecture Forum KSA 2025, hosted at JW Marriott Riyadh. The forum foregrounded a question: how can the built environment harness the distinct qualities of the desert to cultivate sustainable, site-specific urban identities?

Alberto Oto, Director of Urban Planning, contributed to the panel “Integrating Desert Urbanism with Vision 2030 Development Goals”, addressing how urban planning frameworks can evolve to align with climate realities, cultural heritage, and national sustainability objectives. His insights highlighted the importance of regulatory adaptation, resource-conscious planning, and contextually grounded urban models in shaping resilient cities across the Kingdom.

In the session “Revolutionizing Interior Design for Comfort and Performance in Desert Environments”, Anna Rita Petrungaro, Associate Interior Design Director, shared Omrania’s approach to interiors that breathe and adapt, integrating material intelligence, light modulation, and thermal performance to create spaces that respond to both human and environmental well-being.

Together, these dialogues reaffirmed a shared architectural vision: one where the desert is not a constraint but a living context, inspiring innovation rooted in geography, culture, and craft.

Aligned with the Saudi Architecture and Design Characters Map, the forum reflected the Kingdom’s commitment to defining a distinctive design language for desert environments, balancing aesthetic identity with environmental performance and social value.
