Omrania’s annual corporate Iftar event was an occasion to come together in observance of Ramadan and a shared celebration of teamwork, led by 45 years of service from founder and Managing Partner Basem Al-Shihabi.
Around 220 members and guests of Omrania joined in this year’s corporate Iftar and dinner party, at once a traditional breaking of the Ramadan fast and an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company in an elegant setting. The event was held on May 16, 2018 in a reception hall of the Hyatt Regency Riyadh Olaya. The evening unfolded in a relaxed and pleasant manner.
The banquet was punctuated by a brief and memorable program. Omrania founder and Managing Director Basem Al-Shihabi opened with a statement of welcome. Staff Honors were then awarded to distinguished members of the Omrania team. A video presentation provided a glimpse into Omrania’s past and present, with archival photos dating to 1973 — the year Basem Al-Shihabi and Nabil Fanous launched the company by winning the competition to design the GOSI headquarters in Riyadh.
Abdulsalam Alhaddad, Director of Marketing & Business Development, then gave a speech commemorating the 45th anniversary of Omrania. He was joined by fellow director Othman Al-Washmi in presenting a special gift to Basem Al-Shihabi in recognition of his continuing leadership through 45 years of service to the company and to the profession of architecture. The program concluded on a more lighthearted note, with 16 raffle prizes awarded to employees who successfully answered a question or riddle on stage. This entertaining segment was presented by Director Mahmoud Abughazal and Junior Partner Meshal AlButhie.
Mr. Shihabi and the Board of Directors thank all who attended and look forward to continued service and collaboration in the years to come.
