Graduating architecture students from across the Arab World will soon be able to apply to the 11thcycle of the awards program, which offers a unique opportunity to showcase outstanding work and compete for prizes.
Initiated in 2008 by Omrania and the Center for the Study of the Built Environment (CSBE), the Omrania | CSBE Student Award for Architectural Design recognizes and encourages excellence in architectural design education. It celebrates the achievements of graduating students as well as their professors and universities. With each new cycle, the Award contributes to the increasingly robust culture of architecture and design throughout the Arab world.
Last year’s program once again was capped with a public exhibition of all 193 qualified submissions and an award ceremony honoring the four Honorable Mentions and five Projects of Merit. These events were hosted at the Amman Electricity Hangar in Ras al-Ain, Amman.
We are looking forward to the 2018 Award cycle and confident that it will be the strongest one yet. Our goal is to attract high-quality submissions to show the true strength of graduating architecture students, and thus help cultivate the next generation of designers. Eligibility will be the same as in previous years: the Award is open to students of architecture in participating countries who are completing their Bachelor’s degree during the 2017-2018 academic year. Submissions must consist of the student’s submission for the final year graduation project.
Details on registration, submission deadline, jury members, and prizes for 2018 will be announced in May!
Information about the 2018 Omrania | CSBE Student Award program will be added to the official pageas it becomes available.
