Continuity and infinity of authenticity and local culture.
The recently opened Radisson Blu Hotel in the Diplomatic Quarter, which was designed by Omrania as an architectural solution harmonious with the local environment, with sustainable materials and innovative modern building techniques.
The design direction was aimed at highlighting the local cultural aspects in all the internal artworks, and to complement that, the external area of the main entrance was developed with a distinctive artwork inspired by our culture and identity.
This artwork was designed by Omrania, and it was important to embody the importance of the hotel entrance as a welcome and celebratory message for visitors from outside and inside the Kingdom.
The design process of this artwork went through many design workshops for a team of Saudi architects, which resulted in many ideas and models that crystallized to reach a work of art inspired by the “Mashlah”, which is one of the most important cultural elements that characterize the local community on all occasions.
This unique design is inspired by the Möbius Strip, which is recognized in engineering sciences, and is represented in an endless continuous loop that symbolizes the continuity and authenticity of the local culture.
The design development of this artwork was done using the latest softwares and 3D technologies, with materials and details that reflect the texture of the fabric and the colors of golden reeds.
