Progress continues on the construction of the pedestrian-friendly residential community in Al-Hinakiyah, in the western region of Saudi Arabia, commissioned by the Saudi Ministry of Housing, with planning and design by Omrania. Infrastructure for the garden-like, 47-hectare development is now in place, providing a glimpse of its final form.
Omrania is working with the Ministry of Housing on the master planning of 26 new residential communities in the nation’s rapidly growing western region, with a total land area of 4,500 hectares. The project in Al-Hinakiyah is part of the Ministry’s “land & loan” program, which aims to meet the growing demand for single-family homes.
The 410 lots, each 500 square meters, are oriented for privacy, and planned with sufficient density to support an attractive public realm composed of gardens and tree-shaded plazas. In addition, the community offers centrally located services such as kindergartens, schools, retail, mosques, play areas, and a health center. Planned features include:
- ideally proportioned lot sizes and home designs
- community planned to fit the Saudi way of Life
- convenient services
- appealing public gardens and plazas
- safe for pedestrians, easy for drivers
- durable and sustainable infrastructure
