A future full of promise

Inspired by the integration of architecture and context, junior partner Suleman AlHomran envisions building upon Omrania’s strengths to further develop the company’s impact within Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Why did you join Omrania?

I was attracted to Omrania’s great team, high quality designs, stimulating work environment, and successful track record.

What buildings or environments inspire you?

I’m inspired by buildings that engage and integrate with their environments, buildings that express a sense of culture and history, and buildings that respect their context.

What are your strongest skills?

I try to contribute whatever is needed for each project. The most useful skills I bring to the firm are probably architectural concept design, three-dimensional work, development of plans, presentation and graphics, and good communication.

How would you like to grow as an architect?

I love architecture, and as I gain more experience I will continue to evolve as a successful professional. With regard to Omrania, my goal is to help develop the company and expand its circle of success beyond Saudi Arabia. At the same time I would like to strengthen architectural thought and practice within the KSA.

What do you think makes a good leader?

Leadership requires knowledge, ethics, good relationships, and charisma.

What are your 3 favorite projects you have worked on? And why?

National Architectural Heritage Exhibition
This project is located in a historic area next to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I learned how to design a contemporary building that respects and engages in dialogue with its historic context.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs , new office building
The proposed site for the new building is next to the old Ministry complex and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies. I explored with the project team how to create a high-tech office building with open spaces, greenery, security, potential for future expansion, and an energy-efficient envelope.

Ministry of Housing Projects
A lot of hard work and thought went into the design of housing developments that offer a high standard of living, that respect Saudi culture, and that build on local architectural styles. We worked to resolve various challenges like optimal space planning, construction cost, safety, comfort, and practicality.

What is your favorite part of the day at work?

The morning 🙂 It brings a fresh point of view.

What do you like most about working with Omrania?

Omrania is the best place to gain experience and learn from different architects and engineers who come from all over the world. In Omrania everyone is important and respected, and Omrania’s team feels like a family. People here are professional, helpful, friendly, and special.
