Project Brief
In preparation for the Asian Olympics in Qatar in 2006, Omrania was commissioned to provide project management, full design, and site supervision for the development of a number of facilities within Al Rayyan, Al Ittihad  & Qatar Sports Clubs.

The highlight of these facilities were three pool complexes. These featured light weight roofs that covered up to 12,000 m2 of column free areas.  The largest of these pool buildings contained a competitions pool, an exercise pool, and a diving pool all designed to Olympic standards.  Also under the same roof was terraced seating for 3,000 spectators as well as
extensive support facilities.

Scope of works also included: indoor recreational swimming pool facility, outdoor football training fields, football changing facilities building, labor accommodation building, ancillary buildings (Guard Rooms, Control Rooms, Electrical Substations & Pump Rooms, Water Tanks Yards), external works (Landscape, Retaining walls, fences & gates, Boundary walls, Grading & Roads, Drainage Network with connection to main service lines, Water Supply & Fire, Fighting Network with connection to main service lines, Irrigation Network, Power & Low Current Networks, Site lighting networks, Signage, Street Furniture & Floor Marking & Car Parking).  Because of time limitations, only the facilities required for the Asian games were built.
