Gabriel Gil at the 16th Real Estate Summit 2024

Our team contributed valuable insights at the 16th Real Estate Development Summit Saudi Arabia (REDS) – Luxury Edition, held November 20-21, 2024, at Ritz Carlton Jeddah.

Gabriel Gil, Head of Interior Design, participated in the thought-provoking panel “Preservation vs. Modernization – Balancing the Past and the Future: What Should Be Retained? What Should Be Omitted?” alongside distinguished industry experts Dr. Alaa Q. Al-Ban from Misk Leadership, Ralf Steinhauer from RSP, and Tim Martin from Gensler.

The discussion examined the complex relationship between Saudi Arabia’s architectural heritage and contemporary luxury development demands. Gabriel shared perspectives on how interior design can honor traditional spatial concepts while meeting modern performance standards, addressing questions of cultural authenticity in rapidly evolving urban contexts.

Key themes explored included the selective preservation of vernacular design principles, the integration of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary materials, and the challenge of defining luxury within Saudi cultural frameworks. The conversation highlighted how thoughtful design decisions can strengthen rather than dilute cultural identity.

The summit brought together over 650 industry leaders representing thousands of real estate projects across the Kingdom. These dialogues reinforce our commitment to creating spaces that respect local heritage while advancing Vision 2030’s development objectives.

We appreciate the opportunity to engage with industry peers on topics that shape the future of luxury development in Saudi Arabia. The insights shared continue to inform our approach to projects that balance cultural relevance with contemporary functionality.
